Our story

Founded in Quebec in 1976, Thibert has developed its product and service offering over the years with expansions across Canada. The family business is now active in the United States, becoming one of the largest distributors in North America for wheels and tools. The company also carries an inventory of home products, including patio furniture sets from the MOSS brand, as well as sports and leisure products, including private label electric bikes from the MAUI brand.

Thibert strives to be a leader in distribution and a partner of excellence to its clients, employees, and suppliers by actively participating in their success and offering a unique client experience. The team is committed to meeting the demands by fostering a genuine culture of belonging, best practices, continuous improvement, and going the extra mile

  • Foundation of the company

    1976

    Robert Thibert makes mudguards in his apartment in Châteauguay.

  • Mercier's head office

    1986

    Acquisition of the Mercier head office.

  • Establishment in Ontario

    1987

    Establishment of the company in Ontario with the opening of a sales office.

  • Docteur du pare-brise

    1989

    Founding of the "Docteur du Pare-Brise" banner with 53 franchisees in 2016.

  • Eastern Canada

    1997

    Acquisition of the first warehouses in Ontario and the Maritimes, consolidating the company's dominant presence in Eastern Canada.

  • Western Canada

    2000

    Establishment of the company in Western Canada with a first warehouse in Calgary and consolidation of its presence in Ontario with a new warehouse.

  • RTX WHEELS

    2003

    Creation of the RTX Wheels brand, which is now a key element of the company's activities.

  • Châteauguay Warehouse

    2008

    Construction of the company's main distribution center in Châteauguay.

  • Steel wheel

    2009

    Expansion of the company into the distribution of steel wheels and acquisition of the Napierville warehouse to meet the needs of this new division.

  • Lacolle warehouse

    2010

    Acquisition of the Lacolle warehouse to stock alloy wheels and the trailer axle production line.

    2011

    Expansion of the company in the distribution of sports and leisure products.

    Expansion of the company into the distribution of recreational vehicle equipment and parts.

    Expansion of the company into the distribution of tools.

    Transfer of power from Robert Thibert to his son Christian Thibert, who becomes the company's new president.

    Consolidation of the company's activities in trailer accessories and recreational products for the Western Canadian market.
